30 January 2011

I'll confess, I've become obsessed with taking photos using my iPhone.  It's so easy!  So portable!!  For instance, yesterday, I was sitting in TGI Friday with my family waiting for our lunch.  The one I go to has a classic lighted disco floor on the ceiling (I did say it was TGI Friday, right?).  Anyhow, as I was sitting there playing my iPhone, I noticed that the disco floor was reflecting on the table top; so I snapped a few photos.  They didn't turn out all that great, but that wasn't the point, the point is (and was), the possibilities!  I'm finding that with all my faux toy camera apps, I'm taking photos of the weirdest things, like door knobs, light fittings, chair backs etc, the most mundane things take on a whole new 'reality, if you will.  It's fascinating!

I can't wait to get back to my regular walks to and from school collecting Miss Moo - so many possibilities along the way!

In the meantime, here's some 'eye candy'.  It's a photo I took of the sunflower out the front of our house, followed by the same photo, to which I applied one of my 'art' apps.

Karin, just got my first iphone. It's a 3. Hand-me-down from hubby, but I"m having fun. Thanks for sharing what you did. It is just lovely.

I see you are not too active on blogging. I"d love to see more of what you do. What was the app you used for this pix?

Ah Karin, you're going to be a terrific iphoneographer, I know it! I'm tempted to buy an iPhone because of the wonderful shots that can be taken without being as noticeable as with my great big camera.
Over at CreativeLive, they're having a iphoneography class in January, It's nice and free on the two days it's being taped. I'm sounding like a commercial - honest I'm not, I'm just chris at DST, lol
Don't stray too far from digi, photography, and your art, it's too good!

I love my iphone camera. It wasn't a feature I was thinking about when I got it, but it has been so much fun to be able to capture things quickly and to be able to carry it with me.

Karin, I'm so inspired by the artistic transformation you made to these flowers - WOW! But I'm also inspired that you are finding beauty in everyday things around you. Reminds me to look around me when I'm going about my day. And maybe pull out my iPhone, too. :) Thanks!
